Sew Your Own Felt Giraffe Stuffed Animals!

Craft your own felt safari with my printable felt giraffe sewing pattern. This PDF giraffe sewing pattern includes a full step by step tutorial and pattern pieces. Materials and Supplies List:

• felt sheets
• needle and thread
• fabric or hot glue (optional)
• doll eyes or embroidery thread
• embroidery thread or yarn for tail
• toy stuffing
• wire or pipe cleaners
• small sharp scissors

 

These giraffe toys are created to be hand sewn with felt or a similar fabric. There are no seam allowances because these are not needed for sewing with felt! This is a intermediate to advanced felt sewing project.

The finished giraffe stands approximately 9 inches tall with wire sewn into the legs and neck for gentle pose-ability and stability. What you will create is a heirloom quality toy perfect for that safari animal play set or safari themed children’s room. Or you could create this as a gift for your favorite giraffe loving friend!

The giraffe sewing pattern is a slow stitching craft project. Sewing in all those spots can be tedious! Although I recommend hand stitching for a nicer more finished look, these spots can absolutely be glued on with fabric glue. Or you could use hot glue gun for a speedier crafting experience.

Sewing skill level:

This is a beginner/intermediate hand sewing pattern. The pattern is perfect for beginner adult sewers or experienced children. I always recommend a parent nearby for any children learning with these projects. Small children should be supervised  with sewing tools such as sharp needles, and small pieces such as doll eyes, buttons, and very small pieces of felt.

This is also a beginners’ level introduction to simple embroidery on small toys.

 

Sewing time:
As a beginner, 2-3 hours to hand sew a skunk. This is approximate, as the time it take to complete a project can vary depending on skill.
